Urban Hen Bylaw Application

At the Monday March 25th Council meeting a new bylaw was introduced to allow residents to possess hens within Town. Second and third readings are tentatively scheduled for April 8th Council meeting. Bylaw 2024:04 Urban Hen will allow up to 5 licenses in Town on a first come first served basis. Each licensed location will be allowed to keep up to 4 hens (roosters are strictly forbidden).

The bylaw sets out requirements for the keeping of hens to ensure there is an adequate coop, water/ food, animal welfare, and that hens are kept for personal use only.
